Sausage & leek mash pie


Get pleasure from sausages and kale with a tacky mash topping made with leeks and mustard. You may freeze this pie for busy weeknights when you should feed a crowd


  • 4 massive potatoes , peeled and reduce into 3cm chunks
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 6 pork sausages
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 450ml contemporary hen gravy
  • 150g kale , shredded
  • 3 leeks , finely sliced
  • ½ tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • 2-3 tbsp entire milk
  • 50g smoked or abnormal cheddar , grated


  • STEP 1

    Boil the potatoes for 12 minutes or till tender. Drain and depart to steam-dry.

  • STEP 2

    Warmth 1 tbsp oil in a shallow casserole or deep skillet (20-25cm). Pinch the sausages out of their skins into massive items, instantly into the pan, and fry over a medium warmth for 7-8 minutes or till golden brown. Add the flour and stir all the things collectively, cooking for 1 min.
